Reality TV Primaries

I haven't posted any thoughts on politics in a long while. I'm not sure what happened to serious political discussion. Watching the republican primaries is entertaining, but it feels more like watching a bad reality show than the selection of a party representative for leader of the free world. I keep thinking, Newt. Really? The guy is an arrogant blowhard. He's capable of saying anything and at the core of it really loves himself more than anyone or anything. And yet, he's still the more likeable one. Romney has an authenticity issue and even though he's flipped on issues so fast that it will make your head spin, he doesn't understand why.

It's hard to think about either winning. But on some level it's scary to think that either of them have gotten this close already. Clearly, the best choice for the Republicans is none of the above. Too bad for them.

Break over

Yes, it's been forever since I posted something. It's not exactly that life hasn't continued to happen and interesting thoughts have bubble through my head. I think it was just time for a little break. This has never been the most well thought out blog. More of a stream of conscious sort of thing where grammar and accuracy of thought count for little.

I've also stepped away from work for a month. I had two plus weeks off from work for winter closure, followed by an additional two weeks necessitated by childcare issues. Tomorrow will be my first day back. I hope I can still find my office.

Anyway, I'll try and get back into the swing of blogging in the next few weeks. But it's been a good time to focus on family. We took a trip to Tahoe and to see the Grandparents in southern California. Both were good. Little J got ski lessons, sledding and biking all mastered over the holiday. Little S started a new class and mastered the straw. It's time to get rid of every baby bottle in the house. I got to work on my novel a bit. Not as much as I would have liked. Something always got in the way, but progress was made.

Back soon.
