Senate kills jobs bill

I'm not sure I get this. $30 billion to hire teachers and other school workers. $5 billion to pay for police officer, firefighters and other first responders. Does anyone really think we don't need these jobs?

Most of the opposition seems to be about the surcharge on people making over a million dollars. The bill included a .5 surcharge to help cover the expenses. So assuming someone had an annual salary of $2 million, only the second million would be subject to the tax. So your total additional tax burden for the year would be $5,000. These are for people that would be clearing $166,666 per month. So my point, is I think they could afford it.

Been taking a nice break from blogging, but will try to get back into it a little bit.
