Christmas Day

For some reason, LA is a lot busier than the Bay Area on Christmas. The 91East was tied in a knot for no apparent reason. Riverside? Palm Springs? Vegas? Where the heck was everyone going? The trip out to the airport took twice as long as it should have.

But everyone is here now and we've had a late Christmas lunch. The kids have been patiently waiting to open their presents. Okay, S has been patient because she's too young to know any better. Jordan has been real patient. But the problem is we've run into nap time so she's down for the count and she'll have to wait another hour or two to open presents.

We went to Disney on ice yesterday. This show brought out the whole gamut of emotions for J. She was happy, sad, angry, scared and impressed all at the same time. Really, it was her first exposure to Disney. She didn't know the Little Mermaid or Lion King stories or any other stories. And she says she wants to learn skating now, but I'm not so sure. We didn't see anyone fall, so she probably doesn't understand how hard it is yet. Pretty good show though.

Break Over

It was good to take a little break with the kids. There was a lot of day to day stuff a little bit of busy craziness in taking care of both of them. Fortunately, most of Little S's stuff is now set up. Day to day, I can't tell how much better she's doing. Sometimes she seems just like any other baby, but other times, it's obvious that she's out of it. And J is a handful. She's great. And I wouldn't have it any other way but she's a handful.

Then I went back to work, and suddenly there was this crunch of I've got three weeks to take care of everything that can be taken care of this year. I don't think I've ever had that long a stretch of staying late, and crisis management at the office. But it's over now and the rest of the year is mine, or at least as much as the kids ever allow. So that's essentially why I haven't posted anything in a long while. I thought about it at times, but just never got around to it.

But winter break started off on a pretty good note. It wasn't ideal conditions yesterday, but circumstances allowed me to get to Tahoe for the first time in nearly four years. The kids had daycare and Wifey was working. It was fairly guilt free. Though Wifey is using it to guilt me into doing some work today.

Happy Holidays everyone. I'm sure I'll get back to posting for my 3 readers once in a while now.
